Hi, I’m Yue! (pronounced as “you-ay”)
I am a master student in Human-Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle. I’m currently working on battery-free on-body textile interface at the Wearable Intelligence Lab, advised by Prof. Yiyue Luo. I've also worked on computational knitted colorwork at the Carnegie Mellon Textiles Lab, advised by Prof. Jim McCann.
Prior to this, I trained and practiced in textile design, specializing in knitting, weaving, and embroidery through both manual and automated processes. My experience as a textile practitioner inspired my current interest in developing computational tools, methods, and systems that expand the possibilities of textiles as creative media and ubiquitous tangible interfaces.
